Healthy Chicken Strip Recipe
Who doesn’t like chicken nuggets? Seriously! Chicken nuggets are a favorite for kids and adults, but usually aren’t made with a very healthy recipe. Instead of using a cheat day to eat this fan favorite, we found an awesome, healthy chicken strip recipe we wanted to share! What you’ll need:
2 Egg whites.
1 TB of Olive Oil
1 TB Water
1 cup of bread crumbs
½ cup of Panko Bread crumbs
¼ cup shredded parmesan
½ tablespoon of basil
½ tablespoon of oregano
4 Chicken Breasts sliced into strips
Dipping Sauce Recipe:
¼ cup of Greek Yogurt
1 TB of Dijon mustard
1 TB of Honey
Start off by preheating the oven to 425 degrees. Combine the egg whites, olive oil and water together in a bowl. Whisk until frothy.
In a separate bowl, combine all bread crumbs, parmesan, basil and oregano. Slice your chicken breasts into semi-thin strips.
Take the strips one by one and dip them in the egg white bowl. Then roll each one in the bread crumb mixture until fully covered.
Once done, put chicken strips on a cooling wrack baking sheet so the bottoms of the chicken strips don’t get soggy. If you don’t have a cooling wrack, you can just use a regular baking sheet with parchment paper. However, you will need to flip the chicken halfway through the cooking process.
Once all your chicken strips are on the pan, pop them in the oven for eight minutes.
While the chicken is cooking, whip up the dipping sauce recipe! In a small bowl, combine the yogurt, Dijon mustard and honey. Stir until well blended and you’re done!
Check your chicken and make sure it’s golden brown. Some of the chicken tenders may not be cooked thoroughly, whereas others might be. Cook for five more minutes if needed.
